Polyalphaolefins

Polyalphaolefins (commonly PAOs) are synthetic base fluids made by polymerising an alpha-olefin (generally 1-decene or 1-dodecene).
PAOs have many advantages over mineral oils:

• - Very good oxidative stability
• - Lower volatility
• - Excellent low-temperature viscosities
• - Extremely high viscosity index
• - Excellent pour points
